About the Author

Christina Shala

Christina's passion for developing educational materials started at 13 when she wrote her first alphabet book for a school project. That instinct — to create rather than accept what already exists — has driven everything since.

After teaching in Canadian and international schools across multiple countries, she became a language coordinator at the Netherlands Inter-community School in Jakarta, where she designed her first educational framework from scratch. That experience became the foundation for this book and for everything Education by Shala Books stands for today.

She launched shalabooks.com while teaching at the American School of Doha, expanding it from FSL resources into a full suite of tools for educators — ESBPlanners, AI Labs, Phonics Playground, and more. After many years on the international circuit as an educator, consultant, and conference presenter, Christina now lives in Osoyoos, B.C., where she writes, creates, consults, and keeps thinking of the next best way to improve education.
